Regional Cooperation Management

Development of common topics for the cooperation program Austria-Hungary

Regional Cooperation Management was established by the countries and regions on the border between Austria and Hungary in order to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and initiate new cooperation projects .The focus for 2014 was an analysis of the results of the first EU Cooperation Programme 2007 - 2013 between Austria and Hungary and the resulting development of new common focuses of activity. In cooperation with countries, counties and more than 200 political leaders and project partners it has been possible to develop new practical project proposals in the priority areas of the economy, research, professional training, renewable energy , urban development and spatial development, which will be implemented jointly in the next seven years.

The Institute of Systemic Development analysed the results of the first Austria-Hungary Cooperation Programme in detail on the basis of interviews, questionnaires and reports and identified cooperation requirements for the following period that build on this. On the basis of these main topics, workshops were organised and presented with all the relevant stakeholders on the development of the new cooperation projects that were required on both sides of the border, and the results were secured.
